CO2 hydrogenation to formate is an attractive route for the utilization of this greenhouse gas. In their Research Article (e202307086), Dehui Deng, Liang Yu, and co-workers report edge-rich molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) as a low-cost catalyst with superior activity, selectivity, high stability. Comprehensive mechanism studies reveal that selective production enabled at MoS2 edge sulfur vacancies via new water-mediated mechanism.
